Soldiers Field Park, designed by architect Benjamin Thompson and completed in 1976, is managed by Harvard University Housing and is comprised of four apartment buildings. A phased comprehensive renovation of the complex and the surrounding grounds is underway and will be completed over the course of the next several years. The renovation project will include a full renewal and modernization of the apartments, common areas, and landscape, and will include the following features: full renewal of all unit interior with premium modern finishes, reconfiguration of units including the addition of in-unit bathrooms to better align with the needs of contemporary residents, replacement of all windows and building systems including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, reconfiguration and renewal of the landscape and pedestrian pathways, creation of a large centralized amenity area in Building 2 (slated for completion in 2020) featuring a children’s play area for residents, fitness / yoga center, lounge, conference space, and a community room, target of LEED Gold certification for each of the four phases.
